The UF Office for Student Services coordinates individual advisement, new student orientation and programs on developing important academic and life management skills. It also offers specialized services for various specific student populations: minorities, women, veterans, students above traditional college age and students with disabilities (including registration assistance, a special campus orientation and help in securing auxiliary learning aids).

UF Student Financial Affairs provides financial counseling and assists you in securing various forms of financial aid, such as loans, grants or part-time employment.

The UF Speech and Hearing Clinic offers year-round evaluation and therapy to students with learning disabilities or speech, language or hearing disorders.

The UF Counseling Center offers free, confidential services to full-time students and their partners undergoing personal, social or marital difficulties. The UF International Center provides administrative and support services to foreign students, scholars and their families from their arrival through their departure. Working with government and university agencies to establish visa eligibility and assist in immigration matters, it also provides orientation programs, cross-cultural workshops, community relations and counseling on international academic, financial and cultural issues.

The UF English Language Institute offers foreign students a noncredit, nondegree program in English as a second language, with an emphasis on spoken and written skills required for attendance at an American university.

The UF Institute of Black Culture promotes awareness of black history and culture across the globe through lectures, seminars, forums and other activities. The UF Black Graduate Student Organization invites all interested graduate students to work together to share information on scholarships, fellowships, grants and other financial aid; offer consultation on the selection of black graduate students; extend support and fellowship; and serves as mentors and tutors to undergraduate students.

The UF Institute of Hispanic-Latino Culture is the hub of the campus' Spanish-speaking community, hosting speaking engagements, workshops, forums and educational programs that celebrate the diversity of Hispanic culture and life.

The UF Lesbian, Gay and Bisexual Student Union coordinates educational, social and sporting events, a library and a roommate referral service for gay, lesbian and bisexual members of the campus community.

The UF Student Recreation and Fitness Center provides access to exercise equipment, fitness programs, aerobic dance rooms, and racquetball and squash courts for students. Expanded indoor and outdoor facilities for sports and fitness activities are available at the UF Southwest Recreation Center. Use of both centers is free for students, $25 annually for spouses.

The UF J. Wayne Reitz Union serves as the official center of campus activities. Its facilities includes extensive food services, hotel accommodations, an art gallery, a crafts center, a game room, a bank, an eye care center, a cinema, a hair salon and barbershop, a travel agency, free facilities for typing and wordprocessing, and offices of student organizations. The union hosts film and speaking series, leisure classes and outdoor excursions.

The UF Stephen C. O'Connell Center provides free recreational facilities to students, faculty and staff, including a swimming pool, weight training rooms and an indoor track. It is also a major venue for indoor sporting events, concerts and performances.In addition to these highlights, the University of Florida campus is home to many other groups, programs and activities that address the diverse ethnic, religious, social, cultural, educational and recreational interests of its student body.
